Common questions
Questions people ask us
The things women wonder before they try it — answered straight.
How do I know the result is accurate?+
Two ways. First, we measure the real tones in your photo instead of asking quiz questions — that's how in-person studios work. Second, you can test us: run the same photo twice and you'll get the same season, with the same confidence score. Apps that guess can't pass that test.
What happens to my photo?+
Your analysis runs on your own device, and your photo itself is never kept by us. Your finished try-on renders are held privately for 30 days so your report reloads instantly on any of your devices, then deleted automatically. If you save your report to an account, it's encrypted, visible only to you, never used to train anything, and also auto-deleted after 30 days — or instantly, whenever you choose.
How is this different from asking ChatGPT?+
ChatGPT guesses from a prompt and gives a different answer every time. ColorFinder AI measures the real tones in your photo — no prompting needed — and gives you high-quality AI images of you in your season that you can share and download. And your photo is never handed to a chatbot or used to train AI.
Will the AI images actually look like me — or like a generic AI person?+
Like you. Every render starts from your photo, and every prompt we send carries one strict rule: your face, skin, and lighting stay untouched — only the clothes, hair color, or makeup around them change. The images are labeled "AI render" so nobody mistakes them for photographs, but the person in them is unmistakably you.
Is color analysis an exact science?+
Not always — skin, lighting and screens all vary, and even in-person stylists disagree on close calls. That's why every report includes a confidence score, so you can see exactly how sure the result is. Run the same photo twice and you'll always get the same season.
What if I disagree with my season?+
It happens — usually because of lighting. Your report shows which season came second, why, and the full reasoning behind the verdict — so you can judge it like a stylist would.
I'm not technical. Is this complicated?+
If you can take a selfie, you can do this. Three steps, about two minutes: a photo, three quick questions about your hair and eyes, and your result. Everything is explained in normal words — the science stays under the hood unless you want to peek.
What kind of photo should I upload?+
A normal selfie is perfect — no professional camera, no setup. Face the camera with your full face visible, use daylight if you can (near a window works best), and wear little or no makeup so we measure your skin, not your foundation. Skip the filters. That's it.
Is this a subscription? Will I be charged again?+
No. It's one payment for one finished report — no subscription, no trial that quietly renews, nothing saved for later billing. You don't even need an account. You'd only ever pay again if you came back one day and bought a brand-new analysis.
Why is it $14.99 when some apps are free?+
Free apps make their money another way — your data, ads, or a subscription that starts after the teaser. We charge once, plainly, for a finished report you keep — including 12 photoreal renders of you, which cost us real money to generate. An in-person draping session runs $200–300; this is the same method, measured digitally.
